Q: When will my child move up to his/her new class?

A1: For D6 Beginnings

Children ages 0-3 years move to the next class on their birthdays and/or when they are developmentally ready. When children reach the 3 year and 9 month mark, they enter the oldest 3-year-old classroom. Children will stay in that class until June of the year before they will be starting Kindergarten. At that point, children will move up to the Pre-K class and will be promoted on the school schedule thereafter.

A2: For D6 Basics

Children in Pre-K through 2nd grade classes will be promoted to the next class in June of each year. D6 Wednesdays does not meet in the summer, so children will automatically start with a new class each fall.

Q: When does Cornerstone celebrate Parent /Child Dedications?

A:  Twice a year, in May and November.

Twice a year, Cornerstone Church takes time to celebrate children and encourage parents to dedicate themselves to godly parenting. This takes place primarily in the Connection Group setting and is encouraged for all parents, not just those of new babies. New babies are also introduced to the Cornerstone family in weekend services twice a year, on Mother’s Day and in early November. Parents should sign up for this at Info. Central as the time approaches. Prior to the service, new parents meet with a pastor to discuss the vision and purpose behind parent/child dedications.

Q: Can I bring my children into the service?

A: We want to create an atmosphere of worship for you, your children, and others.

Trained and loving leaders work hard each week to provide for the care and education of young children (ages 0-2nd grade) during every service.  Our hope and expectation is that regularly attending Cornerstone families will take advantage of this age-appropriate teaching for their kids.  Our experience has been that young children, whether through misbehaving or just quietly being adorable, often steal the focus from God during musical worship and the teaching of God’s Word. Our goal is to minimize anything that may detract from what God has for each person in attendance. For those uncomfortable with our childcare environment, we have created a "Families with young children" section in the upper level where parents can attend the service with their children.  We ask that parents please take their children out of the service if they begin to be disruptive and enjoy the service from the D6 Commons or Cafe.  To read our full policy and history behind the "Families with young children" section, click HERE.

Q: Does D6 meet in the summer?
